Youth Mental Health Aware 

MHFA England Training 

Become youth mental health aware and learn new skills to support young people. Taking this course raises your awareness about young peoples mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing. You will leave with an understanding of the common mental health conditions and the symptoms that may present in young people. There are still many myths and misunderstandings surrounding mental health and this course works to highlight the facts and helps break stigma.

 

Who should take this course? This MHFA England training is recommended for anyone who lives with, works with or supports young people aged 8 - 18 years. If you work in a school or youth organisation it is particularly useful for all staff and to sit alongside youth mental health first aider training

Course Format 

Learning takes place through a medley of presentations, group discussions, videos and reflective activities. Available for face to face delivery or via online virtual classroom training.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand and recognise the common mental health issues affecting young people, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis

  • Skills to work more effectively with young people living with mental health issues

  • Ways to support young people with a mental health issue and relate to their experiences

A certificate to say you are youth mental health aware

Book individual places on our open access public courses. MHFA England value this training at £125pp and we have some subsidised pricing for £110pp.
