Mental Health First Aider Briefings

Community and support for Mental Health First Aiders

​Join us for our new monthly drop-in sessions led by an experienced MHFA England instructor and Well-being Lead. This is a great opportunity for Community and Support for Mental Health First Aiders to connect, learn, and share experiences in a supportive environment. Held on Zoom - you must register in advance (see form below)

Our experienced MHFA England Instructor will be covering a range of topics to support you in your role, including:

  • Recent developments in the Mental health support field.

  • Principles of being an MHFA.

  • Boundaries of the role within the workplace.

  • Confidentiality.

  • Promoting the MHFA programme.

​

There will also be a facilitated Q&A session for you to ask for guidance or information on anything relating to being a Mental Health First Aider and a soundboard with other Mental Health First Aiders and Well-being Champions.

These sessions are free to attend and last for up to one hour on Zoom - but please simply drop in at a convenient time for you. Register below.​

  • What's included?
    Two days training live face-to-face training with an experienced and accredited MHFA instructor. A hard copy workbook to support learning throughout the course. A digital manual.   • What to expect on the day
    Learning takes place through a medley of group discussions, videos, workshop activities and case studies. The pace is kept light and easy to follow whilst being incredibly thought-provoking.
  • Learning outcomes
    Recognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first level support and early intervention. Encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports. Practise active listening and empathy. Have a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma. Discuss the MHFAider® role in depth, including boundaries and confidentiality. Practise self-care.
  • What are the training options?
    In-person classroom training: We currently run in-person mental health first aid courses where individual places can be booked. The classroom format is two days training. See locations at bottom of this web page. ​ Online deliveries: Same training and certificate, delivered via live virtual classrooms- Mental health first aid online ​ Private group training: If you have six or more people to train you have the option to chose your own dates and schedule.
